Looking at my albeit fairly small collection of WWE DVDs I thought I'd watch this one again and write a review so here goes.
ECW Championship Scramble Match
Matt Hardy vs. The Miz vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Mark Henry (c) vs. Finlay
One of the best matches of the night. Fast-paced with a lot of falls and a lot of tension, also interesting to see The Miz in his early years sporting those stupid shorts. Hardy picks up the win and arguably the biggest accomplishment of his career.
Rating: 8.5/10
World Tag Team Championship match
Cryme Tyme vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase (c)
One of many bouts between these two teams, and certainly not one of their best. A lacklustre performance with a cheap roll-up by Rhodes to retain the championship. Manu (you're probably thinking 'who?') then debuts and helps the Priceless duo fight off Shad & JTG.
Rating: 6/10
Unsanctioned Match
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho
I had felt the Michaels-Jericho feud had become stale up until this match. A truly emotional performance and not for the feint of heart, having to end by referee stoppage to to HBK's beating of Jericho. It's a shame WWE Creative being the repetitive neophytes they are booked them for another match at the following Pay-Per-View.
Rating: 8/10
WWE Championship Scramble Match
Jeff Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. The Brian Kendrick vs. MVP vs. Triple H (c)
This was the match of the night for me. It contained the most falls and the most great spots, at points I truly believed Jeff could have walked out champion, but it was not to be as The King of Kings once again retained his championship with one second to spare. Although the clear focus of the match was Hardy and Triple H, the remaining three competitors did not fail to impress.
Rating: 9/10
Diva's Championship Match
Maryse vs. Michelle McCool (c)
The Divas match-ups are usually the point at which viewers tend to take a break to 'vacate' themselves, however I have to say this match was slightly above par with McCool picking up the victory.
Rating: 7/10
World Heavyweight Championship Scramble Match
Batista vs. John 'Bradshaw' Layfield vs. Kane vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho
You're probably thinking "Chris Jericho?!", no? I forgot to point out that in an earlier segment Randy Orton with the aid of Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase attacked champion CM Punk putting him out of action. This match did not deserve the main event spot as it was simply boring. Not much happened and only two falls occurred; with the final entrant Jericho stealing a pinfall leaving Batista in shock and unable to capitalise in the remaining seconds; allowing Y2J to walk out as champion.
Rating: 7/10
Overall Unforgiven was a fairly good event, it provided some good matches and introduced the WWE Universe to the concept of the championship scramble match, although the fact that there has only been one more since causes one to question its success. I recommend watching it if you're looking for something different.

I think this PPV is one of the best 2008. And I don't even like the Scramblematch-rules. We had 3 Scramblematches. I think that as soon as a wrestler is pinned they should be out of the match. That is more fair, and we don't have to get a bunch of weak champions.
First of was a Scramblematch for the ECW-title. The champion Mark Henry vs Matt Hardy vs Finlay vs The Miz vs Chavo Guerrero. This was a great type of match for Henry. I was really surprised how well this match worked out. I think this was the best match of the night. 5/5
Then there was Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase vs Cryme Tyme for the World TagTeam championship. None of the wrestlers are any superstars... yet. But I thought it was a very good match. 4/5
Michaels vs Jericho in an unsanctioned match. It starts of quite slow, but it really gets better and better. 30 very good minutes. 5/5
Scramblematch for the WWE championship. Triple H vs Jeff Hardy vs MVP vs Shelton Benjamin vs Kendrick. I really thought that Hardy was going to win this before and all the way through the match. I'm a little disappointed since the talent of the wrestlers in this match is very high. Not a bad match, but it could have been even better. 4/5
Michelle McCool vs Maryse for the Divas championship. Two VERY goodlooking wrestlers. They're doing an OK match, but the crowd really don't cares. 3/5
Before the Divasmatch CM Punk is attacked by Orton/Rhodes/DiBiase/Manu. If you bought this DVD Silvervision already told you that Punk is out of his match and Jericho is in. I DON'T LIKE SPOILERS ON THE CASE! After the Divasmatch it's a long segment there Big Show comes in and wants to get in the last Scramblematch, but we already knows that he isn't. Vickie Guerrero comes in and after that The Undertaker is supposed to take care of her. I really want her to suffer. :) Well the outcome of this all could have ended much better. 3/5
World Heavyweight championship in a Scramble match. Batista vs Mysterio vs Kane vs JBL vs Jericho. This is the worst match of the card. It's OK, but not more. The ending is horrible. From the second he walks in we all know that he will win the belt. Come on, that was VERY predictable. Now we really have a fluke champion. Not that's he ain't good enough, but the way he earned the belt. And what the hell is the problem with Batista. There was time to do another cover if he really wanted to win. 3/5
Was a bit dubious of the NEW scramble format but it worked out OK not quite as chaotic as the old Hardcore Title Time limit matches and the wrestlers joining helped the match stay fast and furious throughout, The other matches on teh card are well worth watching also.
A good overall PPV in my opinion.

excellent work great scramble matches always leaves you wanting more
Unforgiven 2008 contained 3 title matches all fought within a new formula called the championship scramble, for 20 minutes, five men from each brand would fight and all pins would lead to a temporary champion, once the twenty minutes were up,the man in possession of the title would then become the official champ, simple idea but also a very good one and the tension at times was something else.
The event opened with the ECW championship scramble, the champ going in to the match was mark henry,oh yeah,i forgot, all five men dont start the match, its two, then one every five minutes, also featuring was finlay, the miz, chavo and matt hardy, this was a very good opener, frantic and polished,i enjoyed it.
The world tag team champions of cody and ted dibiase defended their belts against cryme tyme next in a pretty poor match,it really dragged at times and the crowd got bored fast,i can have little sympathy for the four men as i expected better.
A non sanctioned match between shawn michaels and chris jericho was up next,it promised to be brutal and it was, this was a battle,at times it was very slow and laboured and unlike their classic encounters but due to the heated exchanged leading up to this, then it was never going to be a flair contest, wasnt always pretty but it was a solid enough match.
The WWE championship scramble was up next, the holder going in was triple h and the match also featured the brian kendrick, matt hardy, mvp and shelton benjamin. This match featured some great spots and was enjoyable, the ending was very good indeed.
The divas championship was contested next, highly forgettable.
The world heavyweight title championship scramble was up next and was the main event of the evening, the champ leading into this match was cm punk, the other men involved were batista, kane, jbl and rey rey, there was a massive twist in this match and maybe thats too much information but i thought the ending was superb,i really liked it,the event overall was very good and im happy to give it four stars.

One of my favourite PPVs of the year. First time since Wrestlemania that i found myself leaving my seat for the end of a title match! I thought the endings of both the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight matches were well constructed and executed well. Very unpredictable ending to the last match of the night!
this was surpringly one of the best pay per views of 2008 (we all know armageddon will be rubbish!). the scramble stipulation even made the ecw title match watch-able. the one match aside from the 3 scrambles was of course the non sanctioned match between michaels and jericho. Chris Jericho is easily the heel of the decade, and shawn michaels could probably still go for another 5 years. and putting these levels of charisma together for a solid 5-6 months and you've got the feud of the year. the smackdown scramble was far too predictable for my liking, as it was obvious mr hardy wasnt going to win the title on such a small scale (sorry to ruin armageddon, but its not likely!) although with edge out of the title picture and in hell at his point i wasnt concerned with this match. ahhhh the booking on raw is an absolute genius. just imagine the meeting;
'i know vince, ive got an amazing idea, lets get orton and priceless to beat up punk, send kingston for help but have him get battered and then give jericho the title, despite losing the match earlier in the evening'
as much as i love jericho, this booking was TERRIBLE! as soon as it happened a million different ideas crossed my mind as to how else he couldve won the title, and how awesome punk vs jericho would be. but ever since wrestlemania 24 when orton pinned cena in the main event you just knew that the internet was now void, and that pay per views were going to be forever unpredictable. that is the reason i love this event, not for the matches, but the new found unpredictability that makes usually dull and forgotten pay per views like unforgiven (and also the great american bash, which i thought was far more exceptional this year than any of the other poor attempts) into fantastic event that are well worth the fifteen pounds on sky box office and the mere ELEVEN pounds that silvervision are offering!
If you want a ppv full of unpredictablility, 3 of the most exciting world title matches you will see on one show and an awesome encounter with Jericho and Michaels this is definatley the dvd for you i would highly reccomend it!
BEST MATCH OF THE NIGHT - WWE CHAMPIONSHIP SCRAMBLE
WORST MATCH OF THE NIGHT - DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP
PPV RATING - B
Amazing momments on tyhis dvd, the unsationed match was very extreme, the momments of the match as hbk diving of the ropes smashing chris jericho and lance cade through the announcers desk, amazing match. The two championship matchs were also very good, theres a a nwperson goin into the wourld heavyweight title match, thanks to OIrtan. Some really entertaining stuff worth the money. Overall score 9/10
Finally a WWE Pay per View with some surprise!!! Last time it happened it was at No Mercy 2007 when Randy Orton emerged victorious after 2 Title Matches on the same night! Now Chris Jericho winning the WWE Title is the greatest Justice we can do to this incredible athlete! He was right in 2005 just before his departure when he said that after he lost the title at WM 18 ti HHH he was never again awarded another title match! The guy came with the concept of Money in the Bank and he never won it!!!! Now it s time for a true wrestler and i stress the word wrestler to carry the WWE and not these overmuscular guys who can't wrestle a lick!!! Long Live Jericho!!! May you hold this title for a long long time!!! Silvervision please it s about time you release a dvd about this guy!

This PPV is fantastic for one reason. Chris Jericho winning the World Heavyweight Championship.
Hmm, the scramble match.. a bit like the Hardcore battle royal match with the time limit. Anyone can pin or be pinned and the title can change hands during the 15 minute time period and whoever holds the belt when the time elapses is the true champion. I think this kind of match is unbecoming of a World title match because it's not really a true test of "sportsmanship" so to so speak and the belt can easily be won by fluke. Well at least they're trying out something different and the matches were quite entertaining even though they lacked actual wrestling and featured more of a frantic brawling/pinning affair. Plus its good to see new guys getting in the title picture like The Miz, The Brian Kendrick, MVP and Shelton Benjamin. The biggest dissapoint of all for me was CM Punk having to forfeit his title in such a weak fashion. I was enjoying his title reign and it was a shame to see it end like that.
Elsewhere on the card, there's an average tag team title match and a poor womens match. The HBK/Y2J match was great though, very emotional and heated and it paved the way for a shocking end to the pay-per-view. Overall it's a decent event with a few surprises, worth picking up if you haven't seen it...
