This set includes simply 2 of the best Royal Rumble matches ever. The other matches are not masterpieces, but the Royal Rumble matches make this dvd become indispensable for every wrestling fan
another great set of royal rumbles...
01 had the stellar rumble match with some nice little additions and it's real star, kane, who really shone in that match, despite not winning. the wwe title match is also an ok affair, with jericho vs benoit's ladder match being amongst the highlights of the year ppv match wise in my opinion.
the 2002 edition is one of my favourites, rock vs jericho is a good match as is to be expected from these two wrestling heavyweights. jericho really finding his feet in the main event spotlight. the much-overlooked street fight is a must-watch, flair's first match back in wwe since he lost the loser leaves raw match against mr perfect. talking of mr perfect, his return at the rumble is a great little moment, as is the novelty of goldust and the awe-inspiring return of the game, triple h. must haves
these two rumbles rate as two of my faves ,my actual fave is rumble 1992,check it out if you havent already,anyway,2001 was still part of the attitude era really and is filled with plenty of class,2002 was the dawn of a new era for wwf, soon to be wwe,and contains a killer streetfight that deserves more recognition between flair and vince mcmahon, the winner of the rumble itself wasnt a shock but i recommend this superbly priced tag classic to you all.
Royal Rumble 2001 is the best best royal rumble ppv imo in my experience of them, it has amazing hardcore moments with the classic bowling ball to the groin... classic! haha
also Kane being given a chance to thoroughly prove his worth as an amazing wrestler and lasting pretty much the entire rumble and the union of him and undertaker equals brilliance!
The other matches are really above par too with the ladder match and the world championship!
Royal Rumble 2002 is not on the standard of 2001 however it does have loads of great moments with classic wrestlers like mr perfect returning, godfather, goldust etc and undertaker really putting over Maven well. with classic funny moments between HHH and Stone Cold including one Hurricane! Really loving Big Shows chokeslams in this and 2001 too as he showws amazing strength and they look devastating and Kane lifting him and throwing him over was awesome however Kane was hardly given anything to do which is dissapointing, but overall great Rumble with great ending! however the other matches are hardly memorable.
Royal Rumble 2001 :
Coinvolgente, divertente, emozionante!
Consiglio l'acquisto!
The 2001 rumble is out of this world impressive ladder match and great wwf title match as well as the best rumble so far also with great backstage happenings the 2002 rumble is also very good but purely for the fact that triple h is my fave wrestler and that he wins the rumble.

This Tagged Classics set is yet another fantastic pair of PPV events from the range. We start with the 2001 Royal Rumble which in myopinion had the greatest rumble match in history. Who could forget Kane eliminating 11people, a record he still holds and the stunning ladder match with Benoit and Jericho was a classic. This was really a great start to 2001 and the rest of the year had a lot to live up to. A great wrestling match between Triple H and Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship and agood tag match opener aswell. Then we move to the 2002 Royal Rumble which had its surprises. Undertakers shocking elimination and the return of some really great superstars, plus the debut of superstarsfrom the alliance aswell here. The game returned from injury and Mr McMahon went head to headwith Ric Flairin a street fight which is quite funny withThe Kings commentary.Im watchin this match right now actually. Anyway ina ll this set is yet again great value for money. ?12 for two fantastic events! How can ya say no!!!!!
As someone who owns both the events on their own, I can safely say that this is a double pack well worth owning. But this is also a slight bittersweet set, and here is why.
The Royal Rumble 2001 is an incredible event that takes place in the last truly white hot period WWE ever had, that being the Road to Wrestlemania 2001. Yes, there have been hot period since, but none with such unpredictability, superb wrestling, and sky high ratings and PPV buys.
Futhermore, this is arguably the greatest Rumble PPV of all time. Skip the Ivory-Chyna bout, and you have a killer show with a near fall fest in the opener, a great sports entertainment contest between Triple H and Kurt Angle, and one of the greatest ladder matches of all time between Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho. And the rumble match itself is absolutely epic, with an incredible ending.
However, the Royal Rumble 2002 is nowhere near as exciting as last years event. Chris Kreski, the writer who led WWE to it's highest point ever, was gone, and Stephanie McMahon was at the helm, who, despite being serviceable, is a fractino of the writer Kreski is, as proved by the nosediving PPV buys and ratings.
The bouts are all solid, and the Rock-Jericho match is really really good, but the show feels so flat compared to the first disc. And the Rumble is a perfect indication of why the WWE's popularity fell- a refusal to take a chance of new wrestlers. The Undertaker flattens the Hardy Boys in one part of the match, and it is only now, 7 years later, that the WWE have woken up and realised the Hardys deserve to be in the main event.
To summarise, I most certainly recommend this Tagged Classics, as RR 2001 is absolutely fantastic, and RR 2002 is a decent show. But, with ratings continuing to fall, WWE must learn from this set, as it was their unwillingness to take a risk on new wrestlers that spelled the end for the WWE's hot streak. And, with wrestlers like MVP, John Morrison and Shelton Benjamin held back for fear of a short term ratings drop, in favour of another Ric Flair return, WWE must watch this set and remember. For the good of all us fans,

Both these events where brilliant. Royal Rumble 2001 includes a great match between Kurt angle and Triple h for the championship and also a very good ladder match along with the rumble itself which included suprise entrants and weapons. Royal Rumble 2002 included another great title match and a rumble match which saw the return of triple h.
