my review of the wwe great American bah 2008

contains spoilers!!!!!!!!

1) fatal four way wwe tag team title

this match opened the show and it was decent.the ending was quite surprising
because a team which were the underdogs even more so the Jesse and fetus.
Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins walked out of the G.A.B with the wwe tag titles
a good opener. 3/5

2) us title- Benjamin v hardy
this is a stronger match on the card,these two gave it they're best shot and it payed off for the challenger.hardy was going for a twist of fate,Benjamin pushed hardy onto the ropes and quickly hit a pay dirt to get the victory and the championship. 3.5/5

3) E.C.W title- henry v dreamer

this was a 32 second match.Dreamer mounted the turnbuckle Delaney pushed him off allowing henry to hit a worlds strongest slam and win. 1/5

4) Michaels v Jericho
this is the second best match on the card after it ended Michaels was a bloody mess(referring to blood) this was a slobber-knocker of a match. all i`m going to say watch it for your self. 4.5/5

5)divas title-mccool v Natalya
boring 0.0/5

OK so the were three more matches ; world title,wwe title,parking lot brawl.The parking lot brawl was the better of those three

altogether 4.5/5 for this event

This was a very enjoyable event, and there are a few matches on here that stand out, the obvious one being the Parking Lot Brawl between John Cena and JBL. This must have been the only Cena - JBL bout I have enjoyed, and it had some very exciting moments, like when the car was set on fire with Cena in it, and when Cena flew off the stage in the car windscreen. The other enjoyable match was the main event, Triple H vs Edge for the WWE Championship, which was buillt around the wedding and the cheating with Alicia Fox, and Edge was basically losing everything he had going for him. In the end he ended up spearing Vickie (which I enjoyed) instead of Alicia, only to turn around in disbelief at what he had done and recieve a pedigree to lose the match. All in all a good PPV, certainly worth adding to your collection.

Hmm, seems like I like this PPV more than others.

However, it starts of with a fatal 4way for the WWE tagbelts. I think Morrison&Miz has been good champions for a long time now. The teams of Finlay&Hornswoggle and Jesse&Festus are more fun than good. Hawkins&Ryder I can't stand. It would have been more fun if the teams have been eliminated one by one. 2/5

US-title Matt Hardy vs Benjamin. Great match that could have been even better with these 2 great performers. 4/5

ECW-title Mark Henry vs Tommy Dreamer. Nah. 2/5

Michaels vs Jericho. Probably the best match of the night. Lots of blood, lots of good wrestling from both wrestlers. 4/5

A new belt introduced. A Divas belt. I love Divas. Michelle McCool vs Natalya (Bret Hart's niece). I have never seen the gorgeous McCool doing a better match before. Maybe it's the wrestler Natalya she should thank. Lots of submissionholds in this one. 4/5

CM Punk vs Batista for the World Heavyweight belt. Very good match. The ending could have been better. 4/5

Cena vs JBL in a NYC parking lot brawl. Not a bad one, but at the parking lot you can't hear the audience so the match feels uninteresting. Some of the things feels just stupid. And hey, the fork lift rammed into the car could really hurt someone. Not sure, but the first part of the match is probably recorded. I like the match more when they come out into the arena. 3/5

WWE championshipmatch between HHH and Edge. I love the foreplay, when we see how Edge is robbed of his belt and Vickie. The match is great, but you can't help waiting for Vickie coming in to the ring. 4/5

This is my fist review and iam quite satisfied with this dvd the great american bash.

match 1. is a fatal 4 way for the wwe tag team championship! it was very exiting as i would not have predicted the team that had won a great way to start of an event rating 9/10.

match 2. united states championship. erm i supose it was ok but i think it could improve alot it seemed a bit slow but near the end it picks up a bit and gradually gets better and has another unsupected winner. rating 7/10

match 3. ecw championship. you would have thought with tommy dreamer in it and ecw in it, you would have hoped it would be extreme but turned out as a pretty normal match not very good until the end when the is a betrayl but apart from that not very good. rating 6/10

match 4. shawn michaels vs chris jericho/y2j. it was extreme and that is without any weapons as in there was alot of blood so it was quite a good match but i suppose it depends which superstar you prefer. rating 8/10

match 5. divas championship match. no diffrent to any other divas match. rating 4/10

match 6. world heavy weight championship match. to be honest not very entertaining to slow and to finish it off they end it with a double dissqualification not happy 5/10

match 7. new york city parking lot brawl. probably the best match on the disc as it is the most extreme and non stop action with cars,fire,crow bar,limo, plus to top it off another unpredictable ending. rating 10/10

match 8. wwe championship match. not bad, a fantastic build up towards the match and towards the end there is a cool cat fight and the spear to vickie that just puts the icing on the cake topped off with a predictable victory and a great way to end the dvd. rating 8/10

i would reccomend this dvd and give it an overall rating of............ 7.5 / 10

Overall Average PPV
Not the best PPV produced in 2008, but the again not the worst.

Honustly untill i looked at the card just there i had forgot that Michaels and Jericho even had a match here... :P

Thought the US title maych was brilliant, There was good excitment in this match and a good amatur wrestling approach taken. Major shock when Benjamin won.

Glad to see the Tag Titles put on the line and very glad to see a fatel four way for it. Only dissaponting thing bout this match would be that it wasnt long enough. Again a major shock when Hawkins and Ryder won!

JBL vs Cena - good match but could have been more dangerous.

The main event between Edge and Triple H was an OK match, it didt get to excited so id give it 3/5

An average PPV with a number of good shocks, worth buying for any wwe collector and diffinitly well worth the price especially with the number of surprises.

overall - 3/5

As far as I?m concerned the Great American Bash is every year one of the less interesting PPVs of the year.

I was pretty excited about the US Championship because Hardy and Benjamin are really great technical wrestlers with lot?s of high flying actions but the match was pretty average in my view. Should have been a ladder match, guess that would have been nicer.

ECW Championship ... well what do you expect from someone like Mark Henry? Give the title to guys who deserve it more to be a Champion. In my book Mark Henry isn?t even a wrestler.

The Micheals vs. Jericho matchup was pretty good but the match at Judgment Day was better with more technique and action.

Punk vs. Batista was pretty short in my view and a too big missmatch for Punk.

Cena vs. JBL was pretty brutal, poor cars :P Never thought JBL would win, guess that was suprising for everyone.

Main event Triple H vs. Edge: I?m a big fan of Edge since he joined WWE and it?s hart to see him running around without a title ;-) The matchup was ok but not comparable with the outstanding matches between Edge and Undertaker at Wrestlemania & One Night Stand.

By the Way, who on earth needs a second title for the diva division ...

poor shawn micheals wht y2j did 2 him was terrible but the brawl between cena and jbl was mint

CM Punk vs Batista was a great match. Kane had to interfere to spoil the fun. 2/5

Triple H vs Edge was a decent match enjoyed it. 3/5
