With the upcoming release of Hulk Hogans Unreleased Collectors Series DVD I thought it was time to discuss the man himself, the Immortal Hulk Hogan. I’ve read many words written about Hogan over the years, some good and some bad, some true and some false. I’m here to set the record straight.

Hulk Hogan is the quintessential superstar whose career has spanned 4 decades and is the man responsible, along with Vince McMahon, for bringing professional wrestling out of the smoke filled halls and into the arenas and stadiums, and the homes of millions worldwide. A man with the body of a Greek God, the charisma to charm the masses and wrestling skills that have never been surpassed and likely never will be.
That last statement may irk some people who will then harp on about the amount of moves Hogan used or the fact that he never once tried a quadruple twisting inverted moonsault from the top of the Empire State Building, but the simple fact is they’d be wrong!
If it were the Olympics then it would be about the moves but this is professional wrestling, or what is now more commonly known as sports entertainment. Wrestling is not just the physicality in the ring, it’s the response that the superstar elicits from the crowd and the ability to make people care. Watch Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant from WrestleMania III. Watch Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior from WrestleMania VI. Watch Hulk Hogan announce himself as the 3rd member of the nWo on The Rise and Fall of WCW. Watch Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock from The Rock - The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment. Watch the crowds, those huge crowds that have paid to see Hulk Hogan, and see crowd reactions like no other.
Hulk Hogan can get more people interested in a match with one facial expression than many others can with a whole arsenal of flashy moves. It’s not about what you do, or how many things you do, it’s about how you do it, and why you do it. Sports Entertainment is a business that relies on the superstars giving the audience a reason to keep coming back. Hulk Hogan has been the standard bearer of a true sports entertainment superstar for many years. The Rock and Steve Austin understood and Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker and John Cena have since been handed that torch and have held it aloft admirably. They all understand, just like Hogan, how wrestling works and what it takes it to be the best.
Hulk Hogans Unreleased Collectors Series DVD is an opportunity for people to see some matches they may not have had the pleasure of seeing yet and when they have I am certain that just like me, they will agree that Hulk Hogan is the best. Dare to disagree...

Hulk Hogan is arguably the most charismatic wrestler ever! But definitely NOT THE BEST wrestler in terms of skills and in ring perfomances, actually i think he is overrated, the greatest wrestlers ever are:Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker!Though i admit that Hogan played an important role in professional wrestling mainly in the 80?s!

Hulk Hogan is wrestling. More than 20 years ago he and Mc Mahon built that financial empire which today is known with the name WWE but before Hulkamania ran wild it was simply a famous wrestling federation. With Hogan WWE's incomes increased and around him many other superstars ran up. No doubt that Bret Hart, HBK, Kurt Angle, Jericho or many others have a higher technical skill than the Immortal but Hogan has an incredible charisma and the power to charge up the arenas. Not even his technical level is so low (watch his matches with Macho Man or Bret Hart). The Rock and Stone Cold are charismatic wrestler too but Hogan is special, he has something magic. It would be interesting a match with the Rattlesnake. Yes, Hogan is the best.

Yes this is correct. Hulk Hogan is the best ever, the best ever at not passing the torch to younger talent.
Don't get me wrong I enjoyed his stuff back in the day but a wrestler has a life-span and he needed to be putting other guys over when he was getting stale(92,93).
The only thing I can say in his favour is that he did try and pass on the torch to Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania 6 and we all knew what happend next.
I think what the Undertaker does is correct in the business, yes hes been around in WWF since 1991 but his title runs are spread out, he has put all the guys over when they are ready, Austin, Rock, Lesnar, Batista, Kurt Angle, HBK etc and he is still populour as hell.
I am a wrestling fan and not a Hogan basher(I own all his DVD's), I enjoy watching the old WWF and new WWE stuff to see how wrestling has evolved over the years.
I'm just glad to have seen Steve Austins ECW promo's on Hulk Hogan, Thats the thoughts of a midcarder that was held back by the old guys not wanting to "lose there spot" who knows how many other possible "Steve Austins" were held back by Hogan.
